I walked the dog and picked up more sticks from our giant maple tree yesterday, then I came in and opened all the windows and picked up around the house a bit. Then I sat down to work on Katrina's RR. She requested "primitive" blocks, and suggested designers like Little House Needleworks, Carriage House Samplings, Blackbird Designs...and of course, I don't have anything usable by ANY of those designers. *sigh* But I sat down with one of my favorite Homespun Elegance patterns ("Olde Shaker Tune"), a book of sampler motifs, and the giant bag of floss that Katrina included, and came up with a square that I think is very appropriate and in keeping with her theme. Here is my progress so far:
Katrina asked that we stitch all the way to the edge of the block, so that is Judith's showing on the left-hand side. The vine is from the Homespun Elegance pattern, and the house is from my sampler book. It will be sitting on a little hill, and I have a few other plans for the bottom and right side of the block! Now I'm going back outside!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend...
