Finally Assembled

This has been sitting in my finishing pile for too long...so I decided it was time to get out some trim and glue and put it together!
The pattern is Samplers and Such's "Tin Toppers Tin of the Month Club: August - Kokopelli Sunset," stitched as charted and finished as the top of an Altoid tin (wintergreen, instead of the peppermint red tin!).  The trim is a twist of jute twine, and the straight pin holds it all together.

May Smalls SAL

Another completely finished object this month!  This little design is called "Mahogany Flowers," and it is by Samplers and Such.  Another pattern I picked up in the exchange pile at Celebration of Needlework, and just HAD to stitch ASAP...  I used a nameless skein of Vikki Clayton's silk, and then made a serendipitous find at the thrift store - this old octagonal jewelry box!  It had a fake "stained glass" lid inset, held in with screws and brackets.  Easy enough to disassemble, and then use the glass as a pattern for my stitching.  I didn't get it centered quite right, but I like it all the same.
I glued some fabric to another insert to cover the laced back, and added some braid just because.

Because It's What I Do

When I'm distracted...can't focus....feeling overwhelmed.... I either a) organize my stash and/or b) start something new.  And some organization DID happen before I started this -
"Mahogany Flowers" by Samplers and Such
This is just a little bit of a thing I picked up in that darned freebie pile.  The pattern picture is stitched in GAST Cherry Bark, but I wanted to use this unnamed HDF silk instead.  It has an octagonal border, and I think it will make a sweet little box top when it is finished (it is about 3.5-4" in diameter).

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
