My little tombstone arrived today (and it may have been for sale on Etsy, but the stamp on the bottom said "Department 56"...oh well), so I finished putting this together!
The metal shadow box was a post-Halloween sale item from Michael's, along with the Spanish moss. The bat was a dollar store earring. My little zombie girl juuuust fit in here, and I love the way it turned out!

Just a Little Out-of-Season...
Today my daughter went to the YMCA, to spend some time with friends. I used to feel guilty about sending her to "day care" when I was home for the day, but really, this is good for BOTH of us. We're starting to drive each other crazy! And she needs some time to run around and play - hard to do in our little house (and it is only about 5 degrees outside, so outdoor play isn't really a thing right now). So I could have cleaned things...but instead I stitched. I was determined to have another finish or 2 this year, and I achieved that!
"The Zombie Woods"
by The Floss Box
I stitched this mostly as charted, although I did leave off what I *think* were 2 more bats inside the trees. I think they were supposed to look like their wings were up instead of out, and (IMHO) they ended up looking like 2 black hearts. I also added beads to the front of her dress....because beads. You know me.
I've started putting together my finishing idea for this piece, too, and should have something to show pretty soon. If only there were still Halloween accessories in the craft stores, I wouldn't have had to order from Etsy... :)

Zombie Girl has a Leg!
(Her own, that is.)
Also, thank you to everyone who commented on my "feature" over at the Blogger of the Week blog, and has stopped in over here as a result of that. :) Welcome!

More Zombie Girl
I spent this past Saturday stitching with some friends, and here is my progress on The Zombie Wood. (The faint orange tint at the top left of the picture is reflection from my hoop.) I added the beads on the front of her dress - even zombies like a bit of bling!
I also started a little design that will be a Christmas ornament for my new nephew born in August - a wee frog from an old book of motifs. Let's hope my sister tells him they called him "Tadpole" before he was born, and not the truth ("Swampy")! LOL

Too Cute to Eat Your Brains
Here is my little zombie.
The fabric is a grey-beige evenweave...it was unlabeled in my bin. I bought the pattern online from The Floss Box in 2012 - the site still exists, but it doesn't seem to have been updated recently, so I'm not sure if it is still working for sales. A small picture of the finished design:
(My fabric is actually pretty close to the color of the background in the picture.)

Out-of-season finishing!
I'm finally getting around to sharing these finishes...
First, here is one of the Halloween patterns from The Floss Box, finished as an ornament. It is a little large (about 4 1/2" wide), but I like it! The pumpkin fabric is what I used for the backing.
Next up is "Autumn Meeting" by Marie Le Gouis, from an issue of The Gift of Stitching.First, here is one of the Halloween patterns from The Floss Box, finished as an ornament. It is a little large (about 4 1/2" wide), but I like it! The pumpkin fabric is what I used for the backing.

The fabric it is sitting on is the backing. It came out pretty nicely, but I'm still not crazy about it... (oh, and those little pots are from the student pottery sale here at the college. Aren't they darling?!?)And I also finished and ornamentified my snowman exchange ornament. I'm hoping to mail that sometime this week, along with some gifts I need to put together. Of course I'll share a pic once it arrives at its new home!

Happy Halloween...
...from my little monkey and me!!!
This was taken at the daycare's Halloween parade, and that's DH, partially cropped out of the picture. We had no intention of dressing her up for Halloween ths year, but when I dropped her off Friday morning and EVERY other baby in the infant room had some sort of costume....well, I fell prey to the Mommy Competition. LOL
And today I finished the Floss Box design, just in time for Halloween! (Of course it isn't finished-finished...I'm planning to ornamentify it eventually, but at this point it might as well wait for next year.) Someone asked me the name of the design -- I don't think it has a name other than "Halloween Design 10" on The Floss Box site. There is a link to the site one or two posts below this one.
I added some beads - the dress buttons and stars - and left off the red hearts that were in both top corners. Oh, and the cat had a white heart on it...I left that off, too.

Ghoulish Enabling
After posting about The Floss Box yesterday, today I feel obligated to show off my latest little project.
She's just too darned cute. (I started this on a piece of Water Lily lugana, because I was really envisioning it on green....but the white got lost. So this is an un-named, un-labeled scrap of natural/dirty linen I found in my stash.) And I added beads to her dress -- because I like beads. LOL
