an SBQ & a finish

SBQ, 1/16/2008: What is your favorite pastime while stitching? Do you just enjoy silence, listen to music/audiobooks or do you "watch" TV/movies? Do you have specific favorites you listen to/watch while stitching?
I'm a TV/movie watcher while I stitch. My mother-in-law gave us DirecTV for Christmas, so I can usually find a movie I like or a TV show for background noise. My usual tastes lean toward fantasy/sci fi (Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, LOTR, Star Wars, Star Trek...), action (Die Hard, Con Air, National Treasure, that sort of cheesy stuff), or crime dramas. Yeah, I'm a Law & Order junkie...especially if I can find an episode of the "SVU" spin-off. Mmmmm, Chris Meloni. hehehe If DH is home, he'll control the remote, but our tastes are similar. He's more likely to stop for stand-up comedy specials, though!

Speaking of DH, he got called out on a crisis call Tuesday night at 8 pm, and didn't make it back until 5 am Wednesday morning. *sigh* This doesn't happen very often, so I'm not really upset...just a little disappointed because we'd had plans to hang out together -- something we haven't been able to do a lot of lately. But one of his teenage clients had an EXTREMELY violent episode, and it was important for him to be there. Anyway, I stayed home and stitched.... And I finished my freebie! Here is a picture. The fabric is from the "loss packet" the hospital gave me after my miscarriage. I'm going to use it to make a teeny little pillow. Evidently it is intended to be a baby blanket/momento, which I found just a little bit odd...but being crafty, I couldn't toss it! And it matches this little design so nicely. Combined with the quote (which pretty much sums up my outlook on the whole thing and life in general), it is quite meaningful and appropriate for me.

A very pretty finish. (and so was your Swishy progress)

How very nice that you were able to find a meaningful use for the fabric. And a very true sentiment, too.

I am glad you were able to find a use for the scrap of fabric. I think the little pillow will be a perfect momento. Nice work!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
