Fully Finished March

I have 2 fully-completed objects for the gallery this month - one that has been stitched for years, and the other the small I whipped up just last month.  First, the small...
I popped the little Need'l Love Santa into a metal cookie cutter ornament I picked up at the end-of-season sales at JoAnn Fabric, and added a piece of twig where the "trunk" would be.  Done and dusted!

And I'm REALLY pleased with my other finish - from a 2006 issue of The Cross Stitcher, Pam Kellogg's chickadee.
I was at a consignment store, and they had several of these frames designed for hanging those collectible plates.  There's no glass in it, but I thought it would be perfect for this!  I love the way it looks.  I actually went back to the store this weekend, hoping I could grab another one of these for one of my Just Nan pieces, but alas, they'd all been sold.  Ah well.  This little guy is now hanging in the spare room, with my framed Woodland Sampler.

Thanks for joining in the SAL, and with two brilliant ideas for FFO'ing - honestly, who would have thought of using a cookie cutter! Did you fill the cutter with wadding or stuffing or something in order to keep the stitching taught? And the plate holder is perfect for the little birdie; it's almost as if it was made for it! :)
