All the Tea in China

"Home is Where They Love You" is finished!  And last night I played with the post-stitching tea-dye instructions.  I'm not sure how I feel about it, honestly...I was expecting a bit more variation.  However, the instructions also suggesting rubbing the fabric with coffee grounds in spots, and since I don't have coffee in the house, I skipped that step.

So here is my before and after:
I definitely prefer the more "aged" look of the tea-dyed, regardless.  And I made changes (of course) - the pattern had an alphabet in capitals above the house, and the line where I stitched my initials and date was just numbers 0-9.

I agree. I really like the aged look of the tea-dyed finish. It's a lovely finish with a lovely sentiment. Happy stitching! Andrea

The colors work so much better with the tea look and your changes make it unique to you. I like it!

I agree, it looks so nice with the tea-dye. I've never tea-dyed after stitching but it works really well.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
