Color Issues

So, because I am impetuous and stitch what and when I please, I started "Carpe Noctem" from the 2015 JCS Halloween special.

Model on left, mine on right
Now, I'm not pleased.  You see the progression of orange/brown colors in "Noctem"?  That is the "t" on the green to the right.  Is it just me, or do the colors in mine look completely wrong?  I've checked and double-checked the chart, and I've stitched it as it is charted....so maybe the key is wrong.  I think I need to frog that out and swap the colors around.  Thoughts?

Sometimes I find you have to stitch differently if you want yours to look like the model. If you are unhappy with it and want yours to look like the pic, then rip it out and restitch.

I don't see it. Maybe that's a problem with my monitor?

What Danielle said. And I see what you're saying - it's not showing a gradient like it should. I think that model stitchers sometimes make changes (or find errors in charts) that don't get translated into the final pattern.

I think the top of the "t" is right. As for everything below the crossbar, I would switch the colors around. On my monitor, it looks like the middle color (brown) should be on top, the bottom color (orange-brown) should be in the middle, and the top color (orange) should be on the bottom. Good luck! The design is cool.

Yes, I can see what you mean. The colour gradient is really different.
I personally would welcome Mr Frog on this occasion and try again.

I just had to get my magazine and it's definitely a charting error. In the bottom letters, the top colour is v.dk.brown gray, then terracotta then dk. cocoa then desert sand. You can easily see that cocoa is going to be darker than terracotta even without the thread numbers or skeins in front of you. So my guess is that they transposed the symbols on the chart or key.
I'd email them and let them know. At least you haven't stitched too much!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
