A little bit of everything

Once again, the weekend has passed too quickly. *sigh* It seems like I just get in a "groove" -- caught up with some housework, stitching all set out, dinners planned and/or in the crockpot -- and then Monday arrives. Ah well. Be thankful for the time we've got, right?

I started out Friday night with a bit of finishing. Here is the "Think of All the Beauty" freebie, now finished into a pillow. You can't see the backing fabric, but it is a light lavender with little stars.

I thought about working on the Mermaids Saturday, but after looking at them all last weekend, I was in the mood for something different. I went to my freebie file and pulled out "Blessed Be" by Plum Pudding Needleart....and started and finished it!!I stitched this on a scrap of generic 28-ct. evenweave I found in my fabric drawer. I swapped out a bunch of colors....I think I only had 2 or 3 of the DMC colors the pattern called for....and I love how it turned out! I used GAST Cranberry for the flower pot and the lettering, and Six-Strand Sweets' Cookie Dough for the border. The rest of the substitutions were pretty subtle. While I'm not Wiccan/pagan, I've always liked the "blessed be" sentiment. Plus, it was neat to find something "religious" that wasn't overtly Christian.

Finally, today I got out my little chickadee wreath. The confetti stitching really is a bugger on this one, but I like it anyway. Gives me a new respect for you TW stitchers, I tell ya!

OK, time to crawl into my toasty bed. (Oh, the winds have been bitterly cold here today....even the dog didn't want to be outside for longer than she had to be!)

Absolutely beautiful needlework!! I so wish I had the time to pick back up the hobby.

Love the pillow, that's a great quote. What fabric are you stitching the chickadee on? It's a lovely background and not the expect sky fabric.

Wow, you got a lot done this weekend (and cleaning, too!). I like all three pieces but must admit to a real attraction to "Blessed Be." I got that freebie, too, but haven't done it yet. Your color choices really brought it to life so I'll have to copy!

Stay warm!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
