Always a bridesmaid

Silkweaver posted their Showcase winners the other day....I didn't win. But my "Old Books" sampler WAS picked as a finalist in the Medium category! Two years ago (I think?) I had 2 pieces picked as finalists in the Small category, too. Hmmm, maybe someday I'll win..... Although I think I'm slowly being broken of my need to stitch EVERYTHING on Silkweaver fabric. The past few years I've found myself thinking, "use Silkweaver, win the contest, get more fabbie" over and over!! Which is too bad, really, when you see all the pieces of Sugar Maple, Kiwi Illusions, and other fabrics in my stash drawer. *sigh*

As far as my current projects, I've found myself stitching in the late hours of the night/wee hours of the morning a bit too much lately. DH has been going to bed early, since he has to be at work by 7 most mornings and he has about an hour's drive to get there, so I've stayed up alone watching reruns on my favorite Law & Order shows on the dish (I swear, there is always a channel somewhere showing one of those shows! LOL). I've found it so easy to get into a nice rhythm with the chickadee wreath, too. With all the confetti, it feels like there should be more visible progress....but I have been doing at least a couple lengths of floss every night. I'll work some more and show off some pics this weekend, hopefully.

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
