Hmmm, could I make a tooth necklace?

Well, I've got the rest of today and tomorrow off from work....but not for anything fun. I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled this morning. Eeek! And because I'm a diabetic and also not a fan of being unaware of my surroundings, it was done with just novocaine. The actual procedure really wasn't that bad, truth be told -- my oral surgeon is pretty awesome (and the novocaine numbed me up to my friggin' ear). But now I'm turning into a whiney baby with an ice pack. Eh.

I thought I'd stitch in this "free time," but....not so much. Holding the ice pack and typing is hard enough! Hmmm. At least I can share the first of my projects with Grandma's beads.I did the keychain first, using that cute little turtle. Grandma had a thing for turtles! Everything on there was hers, except for the 2 little turquoise chips and and the silver spacers around the bird. Also, I'm adding a little Blue Moon charm that says "Laugh" to everything I make with her beads...it seems appropriate. That is the little silver oval at the end of the bracelet and next to/behind the turtle. The bracelet is alternating pink and white seed beads (not Mill Hill...some off-brand I picked up for cheap at a Jo-Ann's store closing sale!) with some pretty chips from Grandma and of course, the infamous birds. Oh, and the ironwood coyote was also from her house -- the only thing DH wanted to take.

Ouch!! Feel better! I find that I can only stitch if I'm a "little" sick or if I'm in a "little" discomfort. Anything more than that and I just can't motivate myself to do it, and if I do try, I can't concentrate for very long. Take it easy!

Owie! Those wisdaom teeth hurt when they are pulled! One of mine had to be cut out and that really stunk! Get feeling better soon.

Oh poor you Erin! Hope the DH is taking good care of you. I love your beading work and what a wonderful use for your grandmother's beads - keeping her memory alive everytime you see these pieces.

Hi, I'm new to your blog and have enjoyed reading it very much. Since I am some part Cherokee, I'm wondering if you know why your Grandmother loved turtles, and that the ironwood ceyote is sacred? What tribe was she of?
