SBQ, 9/21/2006 - Easier to Number the Stars...

How many pieces have you stitched? Out of these, how many have been for you? How many have had specialty stitches or other techniques besides cross stitch?

OK, you've finally stumped me!! LOL I really have no idea how many pieces I've stitched over the years, especially if I'm to count things that are no longer in my possession. I've given away SOOO many little projects.....heck, the year that I went on my clothespin angel kick I made at least 10 of those darned things! So I think my finished project tally must be near 100, if not more. Now, in terms of things I've kept, there are 4 framed pieces in our house, 3 pillows, a handful of ornaments, and a hot pad/trivet that I modified myself from a Donna Kooler book. There is also a box of pieces that are completely stitched but not finished in a displayable manner yet. Giveaways....all the angels, a dishtowel and matching trivet for a friend, another trivet for a another friend, a framed piece for DH's grandmother, ornies for the step-sisters-in-law, an ornie for my ren faire seamstress buddy, 4 framed things for my folks, the pillow my mom will be getting for Christmas, whatever I stitch for my sister this year (last year she got an apron with waste canvas veggies on it), the little basket I RAKed to Suz....I can't remember what else, but I know I've given away more. Oh, and I've sold one or 2 things on eBay, too! Phew!!
As for specialty stitches, I really haven't done that many. I'm finally getting braver, and have done some Algerian eyelets, Smyrna crosses, satin stitches, and beading, but I've not done a piece that features specialty stitches or is not primarily cross stitch.

one of the smartest things i`ve ever done is start a stitch journal...`i take a pic of the finished project and make a note of fabrics and fibers, also notes on how i felt while stitching it,any changes i made etc...its lots of fun to go back every now and then and see how i`ve progressed as a stitcher...

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
