I did a bit of hair, and then started working down into the tail of the left-hand mermaid (I've named her "L" - for my sister). The mermaid on the right is "E" - me, of course! I think my plan of attack for this design will be to work down to the bottom, then bead/backstitch and work my way back up. I've accepted the fact that I'll have to roll beaded sections around the scroll rods, and I guess I'm ok with that. I will, however, save the treasures and bigger beads for the very end.....
Oh, over the weekend I decide to frog out the Berry Ophir on the Debbie Draper sampler. I just wasn't happy with it....and it kept knotting on me, anyway. Grrrr. I'm holding off on ordering the Berry in the Silken Strands from Colour Streams until I figure out if I'm going to need another skein of the Arabian Nights, though.

Looks wonderful!
So far so good! I have this one on my Wish List. It's such a pretty pattern.
Mermaids looks great. That's a good way to remember to stitch this on mondays...miles of mermaids on mondays. I love alliteration. The fabric looks so cool, what are you stitching mermaids on? Ann.
Great beginning to Mermaids of the Deep Blue. When I finish Summer Fairy Spirit, Mermaids will be the next project. This is such a lovely piece.
Great progress Erin! I really like this design and am looking forward to watching your progress.
Thank you Erin for answering my question about the Faires you've been to. I hope that in the future we can perhaps plan to visit a faire or two down in the States. I would love to go in costume and every year I'd promise myself that "Next year....". Please post pic's of your faire costume sometime. Cheers. Judy
Your mermaids are looking lovely! Look forward to your progress!
