An Update of the Canine Variety

So I don't have any stitching pics to post, although I DID stitch this weekend.....

But I can show you Lily!!

We've been visiting the shelter every Friday for the past few months, in hopes of finding the perfect dog for DH (who will be mad that his pic is in my blog, but oh well!). Last Friday, after playing with a little wire-hair terrier and a severely malnourished beagle, we met Lily. What a sweetheart! She is about 1 year old (although this is questionable - more on that in a sec), is already housebroken, and we've yet to hear her bark. According to the people who left her at the shelter, she had a hip replacement after being hit by a car. Now vets often won't DO hip replacements on dogs much under a year old, which is part of why we wonder about her real age. Also, she is just so mellow.....happy to sleep all day if you'd let her.....more indicative of an older dog, perhaps? It doesn't matter that much to us, though. We adopted her because we loved her personality, and we'll love her for as long as we can.

Congrats on your new family edition! What a cutie! And already housebroken, that's a real break. :D

Congrats on getting Lilly. Is she a Steeler fan like your husband? Looks like your husband is teaching her the ins and outs of the game. :)

What a pair of cuties...I'm glad you got lucky with Lilly. She deserves the type of home you're going to give her. I know what you mean about having trouble guessing the age of a found dog. Our first pound puppy was supposed to be about 3 years old and turned out to be a 6 month old puppy (we discovered this when his baby canines fell out during a wrestling match). The vet was sure he was older just because of the amount of wear on his pads and the scarring he had - just goes to show, abuse can make you grow older fast.

Oh she's so sweet - and DH too! I went to the shelter last weekend to look at two dogs but they had gone to the mall. I am seriously considering going back this weekend as one dog I'm interested is still up for adoption. Hope you are enjoying your new baby.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
