ah, Sunday afternoons...

DH is off playing Santa at a local nursing home, and I'm waiting for the snow to let up a bit so I can run to the grocery store and get some pork chops for dinner....seems like a good time to update the blog.

Last night was the college's employee Christmas party -- as usual, the library table was the absolute LAST to get food. I swear, every year it is the same thing...we get to sit and watch for an hour while the other 80 tables of people parade past us to the buffet line. *sigh* But at least the food was good (when we finally got some), and there were bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream on every table...yum!!

This morning I wrapped some Christmas gifts, watched a DVD or 2, and stitched. I have pics!! Here is my little Night Wizard, with his face now backstitched.

In my December goals I listed a project I started for my little sister last year. After she had a series of bad relationships, I abandoned the project, because I figured a gift like this would be kind of like rubbing salt in a wound... Well, she is dating someone new, and seems very happy with him, so I got this out again in anticipation of good things to come!!

Here is the magazine pic ( it is from an old issue of Women's Circle Counted Cross Stitch)....

...and here is what I have finished so far. I'm stitching it on 28-ct. Meadow Green Jazlyn, and I think I'll leave off the borders....maybe I'll get ambitious and design a new border of my own! I just think the square flowers and dark jagged border are kind of overpowering for how I'm envisioning this.

Both your projects look fantastic. I have the pattern for the night wizard ... I should dig it out, looks like it's fun to stitch. And I love the colors. The green for the other project is just perfect.

I was about to say the same as Kim - I much prefer the green fabric that you're using for your gift ... it's lovely stitched on that. I'm sure she'll love it :)

Hi Erin - your Night Wizard is so cute! And that is a really neat sampler too - what nice eye candy you have posted today :-)

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
