A weekend finish

Thanks for all the kind words on my shopping trip, ladies. I know I didn't really spend THAT much...but I still have to admit that it was all impulsive and a bit silly. Oh well!

I really wanted to start on "Spring Peepers" today, but I made myself finish something before starting a new project. So here is the Camoflauge Teacup (aka Heart in Hand's "Alphabet Mania: T"), finished and ready to be put into its new coaster-home....
I think it looks much better in person than the scan...maybe it is just my monitor. Oh, and this project has completely reinforced my hatred of Aida. It was stiff and my needle didn't slide through the holes any where near as nicely as it does in evenweave, and it seemed like my floss got "fuzzy" very quickly. Ugh. Now to figure out what to do with the rolls of 18-ct. Aida that were given to me by a coworker years ago......

Lovely teacup! :o)

Concerning your aida, did you try washing it? Aida is not supposed to be stiff in itself, but sometimes the manifacturers coat it with some kind f finisher which makes it stiffer. In that case washing the fabric should help :o)
Hope this will solve your problem!

Congratulatons on another finish!! I think matting it or finishing it close to the edges of the design will really pick it up and won't seem so camouflaged!!!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
