After hearing every year about the great "Christmas in July" sale at Picture This Plus fabric, I decided to give them a try. I ordered 4 small pieces, 3 in my "usual" shades (Wren, Legacy and Jade) and one out of my comfort zone (Confetti). Now, I know the nature of hand-dyed fabrics, and was ready to accept whatever arrived. That said, there are 2 pieces here that I'm not sure I'll ever use. :/ First, the Confetti is SOO yellow - as my husband said, "it looks more like Mountain Dew than Confetti." And the Wren isn't as subtle as I was expecting.
Now, the Legacy and the Jade are lovely fabrics. I'm especially fond of the Jade! I don't have a specific plan for either of these yet, but I'm sure I'll find something.

Both Heartstring Samplery and Blackbird Designs use Wren. I have stitched several bird designs using Wren. I do agree that Confetti is off somehow
The quality of PTP's color consistency has been slipping these last few years. I've noticed that it's especially bad with the sale orders (clearly rushing to get an unmanageable amount of orders done as quickly as possible) but I've had trouble with normal orders too. Still hoping to one day get a piece of Tycho that looks anything like the website pic. :(
I like them all! I even like the bright yellow. Maybe I am just ridiculously easygoing?
I think they're all great! Legacy is definitely one of my standard "go to"s for everything.
I missed the Christmas in July sale this year (darn new house, new job, new life getting in my way ;) ) I think your haul is great!
Awesome blog, i always enjoy & read the post you are sharing!
Thank for your very good article...!

Your piece of Jade is gorgeous. The Confetti looks like Chime (I think that is its name). I am still waiting on my fabrics to arrive.
I ordered during the sale for the first time this year, but haven't received my order yet. I've enjoyed my previous ordered from PTP, even some colors that I wasn't sure about. Seems like some design comes along that looks good. :) Hope you find something for Confetti!
