WIPocalypse (with pictures!)

Although I said I wanted to do something for my daughter's daycare provider, I can't seem to start anything...and I keep plugging away at "Melville's Return."
(Hmmm, looks like it is on the Q-snaps a bit wonky...I swear that lighthouse stands nice and straight.)
I think I should have this one DONE soon - I can't believe I'm saying that!

Here is the box of assorted old flosses.  I have more to wrap, too, plus many skeins/partial skeins without manufacturer or color numbers that I'm not sure what to do with.  I guess I could put them in my old DMC cabinet to use for cording and such.
The woman who owned these sure loved her variegateds!  Especially in blue, it would seem.

And finally, my "quick and easy" sewing project that turned out not to be so quick and easy.  Grrr.  The center piece of this is a shirt I found at the thrift store, and the edging is one of Maura's old sundresses.  I was hoping to make her a pillow that would fit a 12"x12" pillow form, but as you can see, this is NOT a square.
It is about 15 inches wide and 10-ish inches high.  Now I'm thinking that I'll finish it like a "grown-up" pillowcase, and make my own little rectangular pillow to put inside.  Then she can use it in her crib just like a big kid!  Plus I have the ruffle from the bottom of the skirt, and I'm plotting a way to use it as trim around the open end.

Happy weekend, all!!

Good luck with the pillowcase! I remember when my DS was old enough to want a pillow, it was a huge deal to him to have his very own. I believe Target (used to) have travel pillows in their bedding section that are just about the size you're looking for and fit perfectly in a crib.

Another thing to do with the random floss, bobbin magnets--I made these in my 30 Days of Craft. Good luck with it all!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
