Waltzing with Morticia

Having missed last month's TUSAL update, this month I give you.....M-ORT-icia the Ort Jar and Drawn Thread's "Valse de Fleurs"...finished!!! I'm sorry I don't remember who suggested the name Morticia for my ort jar -- but I love it, so thank you, whoever you were!!

And Valse de Fleurs has me absolutely crowing with pride. 40 specialty stitches, including lazy daisies, Jessica stitches, and queen stitches (just to name a few), all done by me!! And sure they aren't all quite perfect - especially that queen stitch motif on the lower right side of the vine - but it is still a wonderful accomplishment for me. The design is supposed to fit in the lid of a pencil box, but I think this one will be framed. It deserves a protected place of honor!Another pic, without Morti....I'm still not the best photographer of stitching, though. *sigh*

Hmmm, if I hurry I could get it to Hobby Lobby's framing department tonight....

Valse de Fleurs is stunning! You did a wonderful job and she does deserve to be framed.

I love the name of your TUSAL jar! I never thought to name mine.

LeeAnne, ort doesnt stand for anything. It's a word in it's own right and it's the small pieces of threads you cut off at the end of stitching. The orginal meaning is a small leftover or scrap of a meal.

Love the Valse de Fleurs, I've missed seeing this one but I am going to look for it. You did an out standing job on it.
Love the name Morticia for your ort jar. I didn't join but my ort holds are named Glad( I use a 1 oz size for each project).
