Here is Just Nan's "Wintry Mix," finished as a padded top for a cheap little shaker box I picked up at A.C. Moore.
I stained and polyurethaned the box (I think it was "Red Mahogany" varnish), then made cardboard templates for the padded bits. The fabric I used for the bottom lining - and the lining inside the lid, which you can't see - is the perfect color, but it was crappy $1/yard polyester blend that I picked up at Wal-Mart, and it was AWFUL to work with! It kept slipping. The stitched top came out pretty well, although you can see some lumpy spots and it isn't quite centered. I know, I need to turn off the perfectionist's eye, don't I?!?!? Oh, and I added the braid around the edge for a finished look.
Right now it is sitting on my dresser, with some of my "gypsy" earrings from the faire in it!

Your box looks just fine. Most of my finishes have some little imperfection, but that makes it my creation. You did a great job. Isn't it amazing the many different finishes you can do with Nan's designs. I love the pattern also.
