Lots and lots of pictures and apologies...

I'm sorry I've been absent for so long. Between the wedding, stitching, weekends at the medieval faire, my boss leaving unexpectedly....it has been rather hairy around here.

So I'll start with the wedding. It was a very loooooooooong trip (1800+ miles roundtrip, in 5 days), and while the wedding was lovely, it felt a bit....disorganized? I dunno. Maybe it is because at my wedding, I was constantly worried about making my guests happy. This wedding - not so much. There were no programs, and people just kind of milled around and waited to be told what to do/where to go/etc. Even the wedding party was a bit clueless - DH was a groomsman, and they had no rehearsal! Anyway. May the bride and groom enjoy a lifetime of wedding bliss and all that....here's the pictures!

DH and I outside the reception hall. (My dress is my green plaid Irish dress....it went over INCREDIBLY well, and I think I look fah-bu-lous in it!)

The wedding party.

Bridal smooches.
The ceremony was SUPPOSED to take place on the stage you see here, but it was pouring at the time....so the ceremony was held in the reception hall. It was rather dark in there, and I couldn't really get any decent pictures.

And now for my wedding gift, all framed. I didn't get it wrapped, but I figured that way it wouldn't get tossed in a box and possibly broken when the gifts were collected at the end of the evening.

Although I didn't do anything with it, I DID finish the Vermillion freebie that I'd planned to make into a bag. It is quite lovely, and I do have the remnants from the Dress That Wasn't that coordinate with it very nicely. Maybe later this year, when I'm not feeling quite such a time crunch, I'll get motivated to make something with it!

And finally (and completely UNstitchy or wedding-y), my present to myself. You see, 6 years ago I got my first tattoo - a Celtic knot design. For the past 5 years, I've wanted to add a dragon to it in some form, either around the knot, or make the knot part of the dragon, or something like that. And yesterday.....I did it. Wooo-hooo, I'm an ink junkie!! (He is on my upper left thigh, high enough to be hidden most of the time - unless I'm wearing a bathing suit, of course, or possibly an obscenely short skirt. hehehe From the top of his wings to the longest part of his tail, he's maybe 5 or 6 inches.)

Wow, what a blog entry... where do I start?

The dress: Faboo (and you in it, doubly faboo!)

The gift: Awesome!

The Vermillion freebie: More Awesome! (I need to start that one myself)

And the tattoo is the most awesome of all! But I like tattoos, even if DH has conniptions when I try to get another one :) Yours is really pretty and compliments the celtic knot nicely.

And just as a random FYI - I also have a one armed dragon. Heh

Looks like a great wedding! Beautiful wedding gift and awesome vermillion freebie. I love your dragon tattoo! I love dragons though I have never stitched any form some odd reason. :)

Hi Erin, I'm so envious of you and DH, and your Faire summer. Our local Ren-Faire closed two years ago because the people running it decided that it wasn't as successful as they'd wanted it to be. They didn't seem to realize that in Canada we don't have the large population that you do in the States, so our events attract smaller crowds. So after 10 years the faire closed. Sigh. Have you ever seen Zoltan the Adaquate at any faires you've attended. He was a regular at our faire and was a riot. I always dreamed of owning a (okay, or more) costume, but kept putting it off.

You and DH and the bridal party looked amazing in the pictures you posted. May we see more pictures of your costumes?? Can you say which Faire you're attending??

I love your dress, and the bridal party looked fabulous! I wish I could have convinced my dh to do something like that for our wedding, but no go. *grin*

I have to say I adore your tattoo. Great job to whoever inked you.

I'm just trawling through your archives after following a link from another blog to this one.

Stitching - you have some fab finishes, I love them. The wedding gift is amazing.

Dress - is gorgeous, and the whole wedding looked great. We have friends who had a medieval wedding a few years ago and your pics brought back great memories.

Tattoo - very bright and colourful, looks stunning. I think you were very brave to get one on your thigh mind you. LOL. I have three tattoos, unicorn head on one shoulder, Pegasus on the other, and a cross with Rest In Pieces just above where my right boob used to be. LOL.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
