Waaaaaaahhhhh!

Yesterday I got my dress for BIL's renaissance wedding.....

.....and it was awful. ::sigh::

Yes, it is very pretty...but it doesn't fit correctly. That's not to say that doesn't fit at all, but since I run around renaissance faires and have a closet full of wench-garb, I expect a certain amount of snugness and support, you know? And this dress just doesn't have it. Plus, the seamstress used cheap grommets on the bodice, and when I went to lace it, 2 of them pulled out. (I blame that not only on the grommets, but on the fact that she lined the bodice with the silk from the skirts....who DOES that???? Silk is NOT a fabric you want anywhere near metal grommets, if you can help it!)

Thank goodness I have a friend who makes and sells garb at our faire....she has agreed to look at the dress and see if it is salvageable. If it isn't (and I'm thinking it won't be, at least, not in the time frame we've got to work with), I'll either wear something I have or possibly treat myself to something from her shop.

Last night I half-heartedly worked on the Vermillion freebie a bit, but just couldn't get "into" it, since finishing it into a bag to go with the anticipated dress is no longer a priority. Ugh.

I vote you treat yourself. After all, it is your brother's wedding! :)

Sorry about the dress... Maybe it can be saved! Either way, I can't wait to see pictures of the big day. :)

I'm sorry about the dress and the lack of enthusiasm with your current freebie. I vote you treat yourself!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
