Here Be Turkey...I Mean, Dragons!

I hope all my U.S. readers had a lovely Thanksgiving! DH and I went to my folks' place - about 2 hours away - on Wednesday night, and came back home after dinner Thursday. We had a nice time....got to meet my sister's new boyfriend! DH had to work 2 shifts on Friday, though, so we really couldn't stay any longer.

I avoided the stores on Friday, and stayed home stitching instead! I finished up a teeny Dragon Dreams' design -- "Here Be Dragons" from the Celebration of Stitching book. (I've really gotten my money's worth out of that book....I got it in a bargain bin for $3.95, and I've done 4 of the designs in it. I have plans for a few more of them, too!) It is only about 2 inches square, which made it perfect for a 3-inch styrofoam cube...

I tried putting a bow on the top, but it didn't look quite right. I'm not sure about the castle, either....but I had it sitting on a shelf collecting dust, so I just set it there for the picture. Trying to decide how I feel about it. I think I'm going to send this to my brother-in-law's fiancee -- she likes dragon-y things, and she knits, so hopefully she'll appreciate something handmade!

Now it is back to the Mermaids and the wedding piece for the rest of the weekend. Maybe DH and I will go to a movie tomorrow, we'll see.....

It is precious. I had never seen that design before.

I just got the book and have placed several of the designs on my to do lists. I love the finish of a cube.

Very cute. I think I'll have to put some of Dragon Dreams patterns on my after-Christmas-to-do-list.

Great finishing!

I was just looking at the recent finishes on your sidebar and noticed the Joyful Night cube. I think the Dragon cube would look good with a little bow like that one has. Not a big bow on top, or a castle on top, but a minute bow and maybe a button like on Joyful Night, or some other charm you might find...

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
