Cute Cubed!

I set the big projects aside for the past night or 2 and indulged in the fun of finishing a smaller design....I stitched up "Joyous Night" by Shepherd's Bush, in the 1998 JCS ornie issue. I stitched this on a scrap of 28-ct. antique white Monaco, and used some WDW "Gold" for the star. It is barely 2 1/2" square!

I'd been itching to try Kim's no-sew cube finishing instructions, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity....back when the JoAnn's store here went out of business, I'd picked up a 3" styrofoam cube, and had been looking for a design of the right size. Kim's instructions are great, too!!

So without further ado, here is my cube.

I love it!! It is just the cutest. The fabric was some I had in my stash, as was all the trim. The "feet" (you can't really see them, though) are red crackled glass beads - the same ones I used for the beaded fringe on the Good Yule banner, actually. I'm really pleased with the way this turned out, and now I'm looking forward to using this finishing technique again!

Quickie edit: For those of you having trouble with the link to the instructions....I'm not sure what is going on. It is still working for me! It is from Kim - if you click on her name, it should take you to her blog (In Stitches), and at the bottom of her list of links you will see "No-Sew Cube" and "Flat Fold". That is where I got it from!)

How cute! I tried to get the link for the instructions/tutorial to come up, but it came up blank... strange. I would like to try this, so I will try the link again later. You did an amazing job!
