Burned out, but craving stash...

Very strange.

This past weekend was fun, but now I need a day or 2 to recover! Mom arrived Friday night, and after getting KFC for dinner she and I headed out to do a bit of last-minute supply shopping for the scrapbooking event. She also picked up a few "scary" movies - The Omen (the original one) and The Exorcist!! Being Friday the 13th and all, she and DH had a craving for creepy entertainment. Now, I remember seeing parts of The Omen on TV when I was 9 or 10, and it scared the bejeezus out of me....so bad that I've refused to watch it again ever since. But I watched it this time, and realized just how dated and cheesy it really is in spots. *sigh* Another childhood memory washed away... hehehe

Saturday we spent all day scrapping. I accomplished a grand total of.....wait for it......3 PAGES!! Sheesh. I'm the slowest scrapbooker in the world. But at least that means that I never totally "catch up", and I always have something to work on when the mood strikes.

Mom left Sunday morning, and DH and I spent the day being lazy. We watched "V for Vendetta" - I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it was GOOD! - and I made crazy soup for dinner. Crazy soup is when you dump all kinds of crazy things in the crockpot and let it cook all day.....yesterday it was a jar of stewed tomatoes, a bag of frozen mixed veggies, half a jar of Bush's chili that no one wanted to eat, and a couple boneless skinless chicken breast strips browned and chopped up. It was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself!!

I did just the tiniest bit of stitching last night - still working on "Share Love." I just couldn't bring myself to get the Mermaids out, even though it WAS their night. Ah well. Last night I was cruising the Online Needlework Show, and making lists of things I want - here's what I've come up with so far.
1) "Sensational Summer" by A Whimsical Element. This would be perfect as a pillow/wedding gift for some friends of ours who are getting married next June in the U.S. Virgin Islands. (Yes, I'm jealous. But we've started saving now to make the trip - and hey, I won't have the stress of planning the wedding!)

2)"the Captain's Relleck" by Stitching Pretty. I'm not sure what is up with me and mermaids lately, but this one is neat.

3)"Chickadee Dee Dee" by Something in Common. Stitching Bits & Bobs actually has this one sale right now, but I'm trying to be strong...

Those are the biggies. There are a few others that piqued my curiousity, but I could definitely resist them!

When you see something that really catches your eye that will make you want to get back to stitching. Maybe some of the new stash you are eyeing will do it.

I like all those stitchy things. The chickadee is my favorite!

I know what you mean about the cheezy horror flicks. I was addicted to them when I was a teenager and they were scary to me. Now I watch them and think how cheesy they are and wonder how I could've ever liked them. LOL However -- The Hellraiser movies *still* give me nightmares if I watch them right before going to sleep!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
