I confess, we're both packrats. We save bits and baubles, scribble "important" notes on scraps of paper, stuff things we can't bear to part with in boxes, drawers, and baskets. And it is catching up with us.
Last night DH had class, so I decided to grab a sandwich at Subway for dinner. Now, for Valentine's Day my mother gave us a Subway gift card, but the stores in our area weren't equipped to accept them at that time. So I took the card home and put it "somewhere safe" until it was useable. An excellent plan, right? Yeah. Yesterday I went through the junk drawer, the basket on the kitchen table, the pocket of every winter coat in the closet, the shelf by the washer where pocket detritus gets deposited.....couldn't find that darned card. I DID, however, find a squirt gun, a curtain rod, Wal-Mart receipts from 2 years ago, a busted cat collar, and a pair of pantyhose with a giant run in them. Jeebus! We now refer to this as CFS/KFS Syndrome...."Can't Find Sh*t/Keep Finding Sh*t". As in, you can't find what you want, but you keep finding other useless crap. LOL
It is easier to stitch and ignore the crap, don't you think??? hehehehe (Funny how my stitching/crafting goodies are always neat and organized.)

It's a good thing you found the squirt gun, though, you never know when you'll need one. ;o)
I prefer stitching (and any other pursuit) to housework (You could tell if you saw my home!). I really should have been born on an English manor, with servants to do my bidding...
Oooh, both my dad and my MIL are *terrible* packrats. Both DH and I grew up with every little bitty thing never being thrown away...to the point that we've both been scared into very much non-packrat status.
I like the official title of CFS/KFS Syndrome. I'll have to pass that one along. :-)
I, too, sometimes stitch and just ignore the messes around here. What stitcher doesn't? LOL
LOL!!!! Poor baby! I am a packrat but hubby is Mr. Neat. Sometimes those two worlds collide--hard! I have to have things I need out so I can see them but Jack is the put it away type. See my dilemma?
The surest way to lose something is to put it ''somewhere safe''
Did you even eat supper? LOL
