SBQ, 8/24/2006 - On the road again...

What do you keep your WIPs and other stitching supplies in when traveling?

It depends - small projects (typically ones that fit my 6"x6" hoop or smaller) I keep in Ziploc baggies or those zippered packages that sheets/curtains come in. If I'm traveling with my smallest set of scrolls, I use my dragon tote.

I did this with waste canvas, and chose my own colors before Jennifer released the "official" color key. The gold and the dark green scales are both metallics, and while I love the look, it was a HUGE pain to use metallics 1) with waste canvas and 2) on a canvas bag. Anyway, I don't know the exact measurements of the bag, but it was the biggest blank tote available at the craft store and it holds a magazine or similarly-sized pattern pamphlet comfortably. (Along with the project, of course!) Truth be told, I usually toss my Ziploc-bagged projects into this tote as well, especially if we are driving somewhere. And it is so fun to use the draggie as a shopping bag if we find a stitching store while traveling! The "naked Ziploc" only shows up in airplane carry-ons.....

Well, this week was pretty much shot in terms of stitching time. My gym was even closed this week (their annual shutdown week for maintenance and repair)! But between being sick and just being lazy, I didn't stitch much. I did walk the dog quite a bit - in fact, the other night I took her to the beach, which is always fun. And last night I worked on a little scrapbook project for my mom - I'm making an album using pictures of her and I and quotes from all the books we read together when I was young. It has turned into a real homework project...I've been re-reading a lot of kiddie lit!! LOL

I promise I'll post an updated pic of the Mermaids before Monday, though......

That tote bag is so cute! I just love that. The scrapbook project you are working on for your mom sounds wonderful and what a great idea about using quotes from books you read while young. I just love that idea!

I love the tote bag! I have to admit that I hate using metallics pretty much anytime.

I may borrow your scrapbook sometime. How cool! Your mom will love it.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
