Ready for the weekend!

Ugh, I don't know about anyone else, but this week has felt exceedingly loooooooooong. I swear, it has been Wednesday for about 6 days now. LOL

DH has class tomorrow from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. I'll miss him.....but I'm soooo looking forward to a day of stitching and Law & Order DVDs!! I also plan to run out to the LNS, because she special-ordered "Shepherd's Earth" for me. I didn't ask her to, I just mentioned I was looking for it the last time I was in -- but since she did order it AND she called to tell me she had it, I feel like I'd better go out and get it. Yeah, twist my arm, right?? hehehe But I've been a bad little stashaholic lately, and I need to quit. In addition to the book I posted about earlier this week, I won a few eBay auctions. When everything arrives, I'll post a pic.

Right now I'm looking for something to stitch for my mom. You see, her kitty died on Monday. I sent her flowers (gosh, Teleflora is EXPENSIVE!), but I thought a little stitched pillow or something might make her smile. She says she has had "bad kitty luck" - all 4 kitties she has owned over the years have met with untimely ends (2 were hit by cars, one got out into the hayfield next door when the men were mowing, and the most recent had some kind of bowel obstruction that Mom & Dad just couldn't afford to have surgically removed so they put her down) - and has vowed not to have any more pets until Dad will let her keep one exclusively indoors. That is really hard where they live, though, since the outdoors is so inviting! And Mom loves to have her kitty follow her around while she's gardening. We shall see. Anyway, I want to find something cute but not too complicated - I was thinking about Bent Creek's "White Cat", only I'd stitch it in a variegated gray since Mom loves gray kitties. I also really like Art Stitch's "Noel" - but I'd take the hat off the kitty and change the quote to one from Kipling's Just-So Stories, which Mom and I read when I was little. "I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me." The Bent Creek design is less expensive, and I can probably find it at my LNS this weekend.....unless anyone knows of any good freebies? Although I really do like that Noel pattern.....gurk. No more spending!!!!

Oh, I'm *so* sorry to hear about your Mum's kitty.

What a sweet idea to stitch her a kitty design in honor of her kitty.

I am sorry to hear about your mother's cat. But how sweet to stitch something up for her. I'm sure it will always be dear to her. I visit your blog often, and I'm trying to decide what my next BIG project will be. If you want to vote, there's a poll set up in my sidebar. I'd love your input. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your mom's cat. I'm sure whatever you decide to stitch up for her, she will love. Mom's have a knack of being that way. :)

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
