Relief (and goodies in the mail!).

I DO have enough space at the top of Once Upon a Time....here is a pic.

I've rolled the fabbie all the way off the frame - that is the selvage edge sticking out of the bar at the top. So I've got about 2 or 3 inches to spare....not too bad. Although there is almost 6 inches at the bottom... ::sigh:: I'll just chalk it up to the fact that this was the first big project I ever started, and only my second time using scroll frames. And I started it almost 2 years ago - I'm not sure if I even centered the design correctly before I started. I have a feeling that I just "eyeballed" the center of the fabric once it was on the frame, and neglected to fold it and make sure I was RIGHT. Live and learn!

Oh, and remember "Boobie bear"....DH's impression of the little bear from the birth announcement before her backstitching was completed?? Well, he has named the castle "Chateau la Phallique." Geez. It isn't MY fault that the easiest place to start stitching the castle is at the highest turret. (Although now I'm determined to stitch like mad until there is more of a castle there!)

It has also been a VERY good week for mail here. Monday I was RAKed from a Wagon member, who sent me Black Swan's "View to a Spring Garden" sampler. And not just the chart, but the class materials and beads for the wind chime as well! The ladies over there are so wonderful. I really need to paw through my "never going to get stitched" pile and see what I can do to pass the goodwill along. Today I got my order from Stitching Bits and Bobs that included Just Nan's "Winter in the Square," "Never For Granted" by My Mark, Something in Common's "Quiet Serenity" (a tiny band sampler that compliments the design included in the April issue of Gift of Stitching), a pack of Piecemaker needles, and a Textile Heritage kit called "Medieval Pleasance." I meant to take a pic, but got everything filed before I got around to it.

I really need to get packing...I leave for Denver Friday afternoon! One of my coworkers will drop me off at the airport, so I won't have to pay to leave my car there over the weekend, and DH will pick me up Tuesday night. With everything I should be doing right now, my biggest concern is that I can't find my Clover thread cutter......

Whew!! I'm so glad!

Sounds like you got some great surprises in your mail box - those are always SO fun!

Also, I happened to look at some of your other Flickr pics and saw the picture of you and your DH in front of the Huey at the Erie Air show in 2004. Don't you know (and I had to go back to my pics to check the dates) DH and I were there the same year and also took a ride on one of the Hueys! Too funny! What a small world!

Oh my, that was a scary moment I'm sure. I've done similar, but it was in cutting the fabric and having barely enough to frame it.

It looks fantastic though! Great job. :D

Your project looks fantastic. I did this piece a few years ago and it is by far my favorite completed piece. The colors are so lovely! I like to see others stitch it. I think it is one of MLI best designs.

I'm so glad you had enough fabric - it would be heartbreaking to do so much work only to find it didn't fit. It looks terrific BTW!

I'm glad you have enough room! :) I've always liked that design. Looking forward to seeing your progress on it. :)

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
