Lonely Stitching Babble

You know, I have decided that I must be one of the very few stitchers in the world who is stitching/has stitched Butternut Road's "Once Upon a Time." Over on the MLI EZBoard everyone seems to be working on angels and the Celtic ladies....there isn't a single pic of this design listed in the Cyberstitchers' galleries....even a Google image search doesn't turn up anything but the stock model image (at left) from retailer sites. Hmph. I do LOVE stitching her, and it is neat to think that I will have one of the very few finished pieces, but sometimes I get lonely. Now I've never done an SAL, but as I spend my nights with endless lengths of blue floss, I can definitely see the attraction to having other stitchers to "share the misery" - and the HD joy, as well!

Last night I worked my way over to the right side of the design - purple and brown blends galore. I think I work my pieces in a strange order...I tend to work from the middle down, then slowly scroll the fabric down and work the top. Right now I have her lap and both forearms done, some of the brown on the left, and a good portion of her blue skirts and the roses at her feet. I DID stitch up a bit at the beginning, and have the front of her gown - the blue part - finished as well. So she is headless! I'm hoping her face and hair will be a good reward once I'm done with the gown...... :sigh: I just wish it didn't take so long.

Well, you may be lonely, but I'm sure when you're finished, the piece will be lovely! I'd love to see progress pics if you have any...:)

She is lovely Erin - I must admit I have never seen her before... All that stitching will have its own rewards... Keep going...

Oh Erin your toiling will be soo worth it. The design is great and it's true one you don't see often. Makes it that much more yours! Keep up the good work and show us some progress.

I must admit that I have never seen that Butternut Road design before, but she is sure pretty! If I find her, you can be sure I will snap her up! ;)

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
