Still here, still stitching

I'm SOOOO happy that I decided to join in the Needle & Thread BB's "freebie SAL"....over the weekend I not only stitched up Dragon Dreams' 1998 Christmyth Giant ornament, last night I went to Wal-Mart, bought some fabric, and COMPLETELY finished the ornament!! Stuffed, slip-stitched (and my slip stitch is getting better...not perfect, but better), bead hanger loop added, and ready to be hung on a tree! So exciting. I think I will do one of these little ornies for each monthly freebie SAL, and when I have 4 or 5 done I'll take a pic. I know, we REALLY need to get a digital camera. But unless you want to donate to the fund, don't complain!! hehehehe

The fabric shopping at Wal-Mart was fun. I usually just buy bits from the remnant bin (average cost - $.75), but I decided to splurge last night. I spent about 7 dollars for 4 different fabrics - a red gingham, a green gingham, a red mottled and a green mottled. They all go together, too, so I can mix and match them for the ornament backs. I stitched the giant on blue Monaco, and (with DH's input!) I used the red gingham for the back and made the hanger using Mill Hill Victorian Gold beads and some random red beads I found in my "potpourri" bead tub.

Now I just need to control myself and not start the next freebie until the end of the month......

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
