injuries & stitching (or, QOTW revisited)

Back in December there was a "Stitching Blogger's Question of the Week" that asked what, if any, injuries you had suffered due to stitching. At the time, I said none. Well obviously I forgot to tack a "knock on wood" to the end of that post...

Last weekend I was stitching merrily along on "Once Upon a Time." I got up to do some housework, and (like an idiot) stuck my needle into the arm of the loveseat - instead of into the pincushion that was about a foot farther away. Now I know what you're thinking, I put my hand down onto the needle - right? Well, almost. I put my hand on the arm of the loveseat.....and I missed the needle with my hand. However, I did NOT miss it with my wrist! I had a 26-gauge needle embedded deep into my wrist, eye-first. And I swear, I could feel it with every pulse of blood. Eeeeek!!! Apparently I missed all the important arteries, veins and nerves, though. My little pinhole has completely healed - and I'll ALWAYS use my pincushion!!!!

Ouch! I got a double-ended needle in my foot a few weeks ago. The things we do for our art.

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
