November Smalls SAL

I know, I know, it is a bit late...but with Thanksgiving last week, and some craziness at work this week, plus a bus trip to NYC yesterday, I've gotten a bit behind!
So here is Primrose Needleworks' "Rejoice and Sing," from the 2016 JCS Ornament Issue.  I stitched it on 32-ct. linen, and substituted for both the red and green flosses.  I also added beads in place of the cream-colored stitches in each berry.  I completed it as a cube (and got to play with my new hot wire foam cutter!), using holly berry fabric for the back and green corduroy around the sides.  The bow on top is a gold metallic, and there is a little white ornament with a gold glitter snowflake on it glued to the center.  It will be a gift for one of the music professors I've worked with this semester to organize a weekly speaker/performer showcase in the library!

And, just for those of the snarkier persuasion, here it is before I finished the lettering.
Hehehehe.

One more quickie finish - this was something I impulsively purchased at Celebration of Needlework.
This is one of Susan Greening Davis' "snappie" bags, with the linen banding already attached.  Her instructions were to stitch it over-one, but I liked it better bigger, so over-two it was!  It was a little frustrating to anchor the flosses, especially toward the sides, but since the back is hidden I'm not too worried.  The picture on the left was the included model pic, so you can see the difference in size.
