Out with the old, in with the new!

Hey, I'm only a few days late....Happy 2010!!! Whether you choose to pronounce it "twenty-ten" or "two-thousand-ten," I hope it will be a wonderful year for you.

As for me...the house is progressing, and starting to feel more like "home." Every room but the kitchen has had a facelift of sorts, and the kitchen will have to wait until we evaluate the finances after taxes. My Wee Cage Fighter is growing right along, too, although perhaps Daddy and I shouldn't have watched so many mixed martial arts events over the course of the pregnancy. Goodness, those kicks to the ribs are forceful!! LOL Only 2 months to go until we meet her...

On the stitching front, my only resolution for the year will be to find some time to stitch. After March I know all bets will be off, so I'm doing my best to get some long-standing WIPs finished/worked on before then! My Fairy Tale Towne RR would actually look really cute in the nursery, but that might be a bit *too* ambitious at this point. Since New Year's I've been working on "Labyrinth" for DH.

I ended the year by actually FINISHING 2 little designs:
1) the October Santa from Heartstrings' Santa Factory series. This is stitched on 32-ct. wedgewood blue lugana, and is almost exactly 4" round. Unfortunately, it is a smidge too big for my 4" ornament forms! So I'll have to figure something out. But this will be my daughter's first ornament (I have another piece of wedgewood to do a personalized back as well).

2) a little freebie from San-Man Originals. This was part of Sandy's "12 Days of Christmas" gift series this year....they were on her message board, but I think she has taken them down already.Stitched on some 28-ct. natural linen, some of the first stuff I found while unpacking!! And I subbed a few things....Kreinik for the twinkly stars (or snowflakes?), beads for the snowman's eyes, a hand-dye for the brown tree branch....you know how it goes! :)

And finally, Morticia the Ort Jar on New Year's Eve. (She wanted to pose with some friends from my Trunk 'O Smalls.)I've dumped her and started anew, since I'm participating in Yoyo's TUSAL again. I just love watching the colors accumulate! And the memories are fun. Ah, there's the silks from my "Happiness Is" sampler....the blue Kreinik from my By the Sea exchange.....fun!

I love it when people 'name' their Totally Useless Container and I love!! Morticia, too kewl. Great little finishes for the new year.

Would you please pop over to my blog and let me have a little closer geographic location than the whole of New York state? I'm keeping a map this year and need to put a pin someplace??? Just something close, you don't have to name your town if you don't want.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
