The end....in sight?!?!?

Thanks for the compliments on my sewing, and the thoughts on my soul-searching dilemma. Rest assured that I won't be leaving my husband....but I DO need to let the crazy girl inside out to play more often. And DH and I are going to work on finding ways to play together, too.

Lately I've been stitching like a madwoman on the Celtic wedding blessing. I want to get it to the framer sometime THIS COMING WEEK.....no more dilly-dallying!!! So as of 10 pm tonight, here's what it looks like:

There is still a bit of backstitching to be done - the bottom knotwork band - and a few beads left to add. And that's it!! I'm sooooo relieved. While it looks pretty good in photographs, there are several spots where my tension got sloppy, and all the backstitching actually made it seem WORSE (to me, anyway). I'm sure it will be fine when it is finished, stretched properly, and framed, though.

This afternoon I had to take a bit of a break from the endless lengths of black floss, so I started on Lauren's winter neighborhood square for the Round Robin. I'm using a pattern from Homespun Elegance's "As Seasons Go By" leaflet, but I'll be moving some parts of it around and adding a different tree. It was a nice change, and fun to work on!

Lauren's square is the red house in the center...mine is the upper right. Just a roof so far! And the fabric is a pretty blue evenweave.

Oh, and on Saturday I got a lovely treat in the mail -- I won 4 CountryStitch fabbies on eBay, and they arrived this weekend! So now I have pieces of Drifting Sands, Kereru, Palliser Bay, and (sparkly!) Antarctic Ice. It has been quite a while since I added any stash, so I don't feel TOO guilty about my purchases....at least they weren't patterns.....

That wedding sampler is gorgeous! I'm sure it will be a treasured gift.

BTW - I'm going to be in OH in about 2 weeks - going to visit my sister and go to the Yankee Peddler festival. Is that anywhere near you? LMK

The back stitching does make such a difference! The lucky recipients will love it forever. Good luck with the job hunt.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
