Shopping Sprees & Grown-up Bedrooms

If you had $500 to spend on stitching-related items, what would you buy?

Oh gosh.....I don't know! I don't NEED any more charts (not that there aren't a few I'd LIKE, though), and I tend to buy fabric/floss/charms/beads/etc. as I go. But a nice floor stand might be nice. Or maybe I'd make a reservation for CATS in Hershey this fall.

I don't have any stitching pics to share - I've been slacking terribly, although the Celtic wedding piece IS sitting next to my chair right now - but I DO have pics of my brand-new grown-up bedroom! I feel so mature now, with all my matchy furniture......

Ah, nasty wallpaper gone, yummy relaxing colors....although I hold to my belief that furniture showrooms are evil, with their giant high ceilings and "rooms" that are usually missing a wall or two. When I first saw all the new stuff in our room, I felt rather Lilliputian! But now it is growing on me, and I'm trying to come up with some wall hanging ideas. I'm thinking about moving my framed "Once Upon a Time" from the living room up to the bedroom -- with the maiden's red/blue/purple dress and all the pretty shades of brown (including the mat), it isn't too "froo-froo" for DH, and it will give the room more of a romantic feel. Oh, and I want to come up with a new wedding sampler idea -- something non-traditional, because I'm not a fan of the standard "joined in love, yadda yadda yadda" wedding stuff. Right now the front-runner is In A Gentle Fashion's Every Time Hearts, with the layout changed a bit.

Finally, I think I've got my RR "theme" nailed down! I'm not going to go with smaller squares...too many people seemed to think this was a bad idea. I'm going to get little heart charms, though, and ask that everyone attach one somewhere in their square. My center square will read "Home is where you hang your heart," and *might* have an itty-bitty house or 2 in it (depending on how big my words end up being). Now, do I want to request anything else? Specific colors, or other elements to include? Hmmmm!

I would probably spend it on some way to organize my stash so Ican access it easier. Your RR theme sounds great. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Your bedroom looks great!!! I know what you mean about those huge furniture showrooms. I once bought a couch and love seat and when they were delivered, my entire room was swallowed up!! I had to rearrange everything in the room just to get them to fit. Enjoy your new "grown up" boudoire!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
