Christmas Recap

I hope those of you who celebrate Christmas had a merry one!!! We headed to my parents' place - about 2 hours away - Saturday afternoon, and came home today. Everyone had a lovely time, and my homemade gifts couldn't have gotten a better reception! Mom *almost* started to cry as she paged through the scrapbook I made for her....and my sister loved the not-quite-a-quilt.

I got many lovely - and useful! - things that I asked for, but not much stitching-related. Mom said she TRIED to get me a gift certificate to Stitching Bits & Bobs, but evidently typed in the address wrong and ended up on a porn site!! LOL Gotta love her....she isn't the most technologically savvy person, but she tries. She did get me a small Silkweaver GC, which is nice, but I don't NEED any more fabric and I was really hoping to pick some new patterns guilt-free. Ah well. Thank goodness for my Amazon list, because Mom DID get me the universal clamp Z-stand (made by K's Creations) that I wanted!! Here it is in action already, holding my 6-inch hoop with "Sensational Summer."

I worked on this most of the weekend, and am really enjoying it. I changed all of the colors, and the bargello stitch for the waves just wasn't working, so I did them in regular old crosses. The trunk of the palm, though, is all Smyrna crosses as designed. The only other problem I can foresee is that I'm doing it over 2 on 28-ct., instead of over 2 on 18-ct. as the model is....and the little sandal button/charms that are supposed to go next to the towel might be too big. Eeek. But since I think I'm going to stitch the bride's name on one side of the heart and the groom's on the other, maybe I'll just put the flip-flops by their names instead.....

Oh, and those are my little Ginghers on the stand! Carol - I didn't get the Julias for Christmas, though, so I'm still thinking about buying some.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
