I Don't Waste Any Time!

Yep, those little Britty Kitties are super-fast stitches. hehehe I finished the stitching after work today, and after dinner I started sewing. This is all that would fit on my scanner....

(Obviously the bottom corners are similar to the top, they just didn't fit on the scanner.) I still have to slip stitch both pieces shut and then find my invisible quilting thread to make the pillowy center, but I'm done with the evil machine! I swear, my sewing machine is like a junior high school girl....some days she works just fine and is my best friend, other days every thing SEEMS fine and then she stabs me in the back. Hehehe

The fabbies were chosen with DH's help...he did pretty well, didn't he? Oh, and there are LOTS of floss changes - I didn't have many of the WDW threads. But thanks to my Gift of Stitching win, I could improvise!
So I used:
- "Split Pea" (The Dye is Cast) instead of WDW Dried Sage
- "Mocha" (Six-Strand Sweets) instead of WDW Hazelnut
- "Philadelphia Red" (Olde Willow Stitchery linen floss) in place of WDW Hibiscus
- "Dried Thyme" (GAST) instead of WDW Kudzu
- "Carolina Blues" (The Dye is Cast) instead of WDW Morris Blue
I think the only pattern-specified colors I used were Onyx - for the kitty- and Sky - for the darker blue wings on the dragonfly. And I stitched it on Charles Craft tea-dyed Monaco. It matched the cotton fabric I was originally going to use (a tan with read and blue butterflies), but obviously that plan changed. I think it is the cutest, though! I'll finish the hand-sewing and post a pic of the completely finished product soon.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
