Thinking about mermaids

Lately I keep thinking about the new Mirabilia mermaid pattern, "Mermaids of the Deep Blue." I don't typically buy Nora's mermaids - or ANY mermaids, for that matter - but for some reason I bought this one almost as soon as it was released. And I think I finally figured out why.

You see, my little sister and I were both on our high school swim team. I'm almost 5 years older than her, so we weren't really that close growing up (after all, what does a 17 year-old have in common with a 12 year-old?). In fact, she was mostly just annoying! But now that we're both teetering on the edge of adulthood - I'll be *gulp* 30 this spring, she'll be 26 in the fall - I really treasure my only sibling. And those 2 mermaids make me think of us. Sweet, eh? But seriously, I really, REALLY want to start this ASAP....my stash budget just won't allow it right now, though. I priced the beads, treasures, and braids over at Stitching Bits & Bobs, and with their current sale prices, it would cost me a little less than $25. Not too bad. But then I think about all the other projects I have started....and the guilt sets in.....and I put the clicky finger away. *sigh*

Sorry, didn't mean to spend an entire post whining. To end on a more upbeat note, I worked on the birth announcement more last night, and with her face completed and paws outlined, the bear no longer has a modesty issue.... hehehehe I'll try to get a picture for tomorrow!

Where were you last night when I needed to restrain my clicky finger????

That really is a pretty project. Good for you showing such restraint. Realistically, there will probably be another sale in the future, closer to when you're ready to start.

I was LOL when I read about your 'well-endowed bear'. Too funny.

I can totally relate to restraining the "clicky" finger. It's just too easy to run up a big tab with just "one" more thing. ;)

I also had a good chuckle about your X-Rated stitching, LOL

Oh, Erin, it's so hard to say "not now" to a stitching project! Another day will come and this project may be just the thing you need to stitch. And there will always be another sale :)

You have more self restraint than me then LOL - I already have that chart but my bad clicky finger went and ordered the supplies for it just yesterday! I'm sure there'll be other sales though when you're ready :-)

That is a really nice sentiment Erin! Email me about the Kreiniks this calls for because I may have some you can have for free. I had some Miribilias that I gave away but may still have some of the braids. I'd be happy to send them to you.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
