I was in the mood for some rather "mindless" stitching this weekend, so I put in some time with the Gaelic blessing that I started last week.
(don't mind the glare -- I didn't bother taking it out of the plastic storage bag)
I do love stitching with over-dyed/variegated floss...less time spent switching colors! The only problem I had was with that darned "m." I had to frog it twice before I got it started in the right place....grrrrrr.
Sunday night I broke out Just Nan's "Wintry Mix" for a while. I love the look of JN's pretty geometric patterns, but all the color changes are enough to drive me crazy! I'd hate for anyone to look at the back of this one. Also, the satin stitch areas still seem to be giving me problems. I got the first one done rather nicely, but the next one I tried kept coming out kind of "messy." I finally snipped out all the threads and went back to some simple little x's....the satin stitches will still be there the next time I'm feeling brave...
