A subversive find

I know, "subversive cross stitch" isn't everyone's cup of tea.  But as the academic year is starting, stress levels are rising, weeks drag on but there is never enough time...my snarky side comes out.  And I love some of the patterns here:
What She Said Stitches
I am currently stitching a quote from Coco Chanel - "You live but once; you might as well be amusing."  (I think I purchased it from Vicki's Etsy shop, I don't see it in the blog link.)  I like the look, and it lends itself rather easily to some hand-dyed floss/color substitutions.  I think I'll finish it into a flat-fold and put it on my desk at work - a good philosophy to live by around here!

(And on a side note, I just started digging around in Coco Chanel's history - because I HATE stitching mis-attributed quotes - and I discovered that she was a reputed Nazi sympathizer.  But the quote still makes me smile.)

I love these quotes - there's something (to me) much more empowering about these than the usual "X sucks" or "don't do coke in the bathroom" subversive giggly pieces.

This is the best shop ever. I have found two charts I must get for my daughters to stitch up for Christmas. Well I found so many I love it. Thank you

Thanks for sharing these. They are surprisingly pleasant and positive for subversive quotes, which is very refreshing. Now to figure out how best to display some.

I agree with Logan. The fancy initials are nice too. I hate the subversive charts which are basically a few stitches on aida with a swear word. To subvert something you should be a little bit more clever than that!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
