Winter....Almost Over?

I mentioned in my last post that I was working on one of Prairie Schooler's Winter Samplers - here is my progress (pardon the skewed photograph - it is hanging from the top bar of my scroll frame!).
I really like this verse, in part because it reminds me of "Game of Thrones."  I'm stitching it on a piece of Kiwi Illusions "Pumice," using Vikki Clayton's hand-dyed silks.  I realized after starting that I didn't have enough of the white I was using, but thankfully Vikki had a spool in a lot she was selling in her Etsy store!  I also ran out of the Jackalope Brown that I used for the lettering, but I subbed in a skein of an unnamed brown/purple/blue variegated that I got in one of her "detritus bags" long ago.  I used that for all of WINTER at the top of the piece, the first capital "I", the "W" in winter, the "E" in earth and the "L" in like.  It created a subtle effect that I like quite a lot.
This needs to get done soon, if only because I'm tired of stitching white snowflakes.... LOL  And hopefully spring isn't TOO far away!

I like this design and the colours you are using too.
I hope Winter is nearly over, I'm glad we don't live in Westeros!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
