An ornament and an idea

Last night I finished the trim on this little guy.
"Winter Landscape"
from Christmas 1992 Cross Stitch Sampler magazine
stitched mostly as charted with DMC floss
I don't think I'll hang it on our tree, though...last week I made my first Etsy sale (!!), and now I'm inspired to put a few more things in my store there.  I'm still totally shocked and pleased that something sold there - I don't have a terribly snazzy shop front, and I certainly don't have much inventory.  But I figured what the heck, putting things there gave me a little more control than listing them on eBay (I've parted with a few things for ridiculously small amounts of money there, and while yes, I'm happy they've found new homes, I still think they were a bit more valuable than the bidding reflected).  So I was amazed when I got an email that this little pillow - something I put together years ago - sold for $15!
Celtic/Druidic "Truth" triad pillow
Of course, it figures that I set the flat-rate shipping without considering bidders outside the continental U.S.  And how funny is it that I sent something TO the North Pole, Alaska??  I thought things were supposed to be coming FROM there at this time of year - evidently Santa didn't get the memo.  Or else his elves were doing a bit of Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping for themselves....  Anyway, even with the slightly higher shipping costs, I think I did better than I would have on eBay.

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
