Braided cording hides a multitude of sins.

My first finish for 2011! This is a little Christmas tree design from Debbie Draper Designs, in the 2007 Gift of Stitching ornament issue.I stitched it over-one on 28-ct. mint green lugana, with The Dye Is Cast's "Grace Kelly" green. The model was stitched over-2, but I wanted it smaller - this came out to be about 2 inches high by 1 and 1/2 inches wide (the stitched area, the assembled ornament is 3 inches high and 2 and 1/2 inches wide). I also used some DMC brown for the trunk, and did the cross at the top in silver metallic. The tree fabric is what I used for the back, and the braid is made with 2 shades of green floss I found in my "unknown manufacturer" drawer.

As for the "sins"...I had a heck of a time making a triangular ornament. As you can probably see, one corner - the bottom left - came to nice point, the other 2 ended up kind of lumpy. And the braid covers some of the raw edges that wouldn't tuck under nicely....

But it is still pretty cute!

It's very cute! All that green with just a tiny bit of brown and silver.
The cording is very lovely and your finishing looks great.

I love the ornament! Can you explain how you didmthe cording that way? Is it all one piece of cording? It looks like you tiedna knot at the top of the ornament and then another knot to make the hanger? I always have the hardest time with cording. Thanks for any tips.

Love that ornament especially over 1. It looks great to me. At least you have figured out cording. I'm gonna have to have some lessons from Dani for that.

I think it looks great! And if you hadn't pointed out that one corner is sharp and the other two are rounded, I never would have noticed. Well done!

Craft Sale!

So my mother and I set up our little table at the craft fair this past weekend.  And we didn't do terribly!  I sold $125 worth of needle...
